Went there this week. Loads of animals but of course the highlight was the guineas! There didn't seem to be loads of them, saw about 5 but there were some tiny babies running round :smitten: It's the usual thing though, you end up wondering whether they just breed and breed and what happens to the surplus ... Anyway, they had a massive enclosure - like MASSIVE! They were free range - the public could walk through (it was the desert zone) and it was sort of built-up each side of the path so unless the guineas actually came down onto the path, which I doubt they would, the public couldn't get to them. They had caves built into big rocks and there was gravel/sand on the floor. They looked happy and were running around but sticking to their area. It was great to see a completely different set-up. Just hope it doesn't get too hot in the summer with it being the desert zone.

Sounds good I love Paignton Zoo! I went to a animal farm type place last year and they were just giving the piggies away as it was the end of the season they had loads :( I didnt have piggies back then but when we go this year watch this space as I will probably bring them all back for rehoming as I dread to think what they do with them if no-one has them :'(

Oh I know, we went there last Autumn, the kids absolutely loved it! It was fantastic to see the piggies in that environment, they all looked so free and so happy.

Have put a photo on photo gallery now, not a very good one I'm afraid.

Sounds brilliant and like they have tried to imitate the sort of environment they would live in if they were in the wild. O0 They only bad point is they have so many babies that they actually have to give them away as there are to many, the guineas are probably just breeding machines. More then likely properly cared for but breed at every opportunity. :(

Found my pic from last Autumn and have added that to yours in the photo gallery Jillybean, hope you don't mind :)

No I don't mind at all! That's great. Going to have a look now!
