I went to the local equine store as I thought I'd get better hay than P@H. I asked for Timothy hay, which is what my boys are used to,and she gave me these blocks. They look like bricks and my piggies are loving the one I've put in. It's a great green colour I just wonder if they'll get enough hay if I use them. Has anyone any experience of them? I'll still give some meadow hay for bedding, but they don't much like it.IMG_20170901_1656106_rewind.webp

They sell similar at p&h, my lot weren't overly keen and didn't bother buying anymore. I think it was too much hard work for them. Fuzzy lot but just preferred messing around in big mounds of the stuff instead - playing hide & seek and eating and squeaking madly.:D

My guys are treating it the same way they do when I give them a carrot cottage. They absolutely love it. I was worried about all the effort...will they still eat enough? I actually think it looks like it will be good for enrichment.

In which case, brilliant, will keep them entertained! At least they don't their leg like dogs...:lol!:

My rabbits had those but were not keen. Glad your piggies are enjoying them.

I would use loose hay too. The longer strands are good for wearing teeth down and guinea pigs just soooo love to make tunnels in and generally hang out in hay.
