Hi! Just wondering if anyone has tried the below hay - I usually use alfalfa king timothy hay but finding it extremely dusty/bad quality lately - causing my boars to sneeze.

Selective Timothy Hay | Hays & Grasses | The Hay Experts

Also been looking at this one:
Vitakraft Premium Timothy Hay

I have been using hay with marigold and dandelion (B&M Stores) and also tried some hay from Pound Stretcher for my boars and rabbit which has beetroot etc in it, but don't want to over use due to the stuff in it...

Thanks :)

The "Selective Hay " you have linked looks great . I haven't tried it - but will do now ! It meets my approval as it comes from the UK ( A lot if Timothy Hay is imported from the US - I will do anything to try to cut down on air miles) .

Be interesting to hear how they like it. Am always on the lookout for new hay to try

Will let you know how I get on with it :) I bought some Vitakraft hay from Jollyes today as I need some whilst waiting for delivery and it seems to be going down well so far.

Ahh yes that's the one I bought from poundstretcher. Only thing is it worries me over feeding it due to the content. Would feel better if I mixed a normal Timothy hay with it :)

Finally got round to ordering this hay and it was delivered today. Chucked a big Pile of it in the hay rack and the Guinea pigs haven't left it alone. It's quite green but there are some not so green bits in it too - not too fussed though. It isn't dusty too from what I can see so far. Quite impressed.

My rabbit isn't eating it yet - usually takes her a while to get used to a change I think she's just stubborn ha ha!

Would say it is a hit so far! Hope they continue to eat it because I ordered 3x 2kg bags!

Oh it smells really fresh too - no wonder the piggies haven't left it alone

Ok so an update on the Selective timothy hay...I ordered 3 bags x2kg and unfortunately the pigs and the rabbit aren't seeming to eat it to be honest. Finding that a lot gets wasted which is annoying.

I did order a small bag of the oxbow timothy hay and this seems to be a big hit... so I think I'll order the 50lb box from hayforpets... even though the up front cost is high, when you work it out it works out cheaper than the hay I used to use which was alfalfa king timothy hay!

Lesson learned ha ha

I guess I'll give my friend a bag of the selective hay to see if her girls like it!

@PiggyOwner - just wondering did you try the selective hay and if so, did your pigs get on with it? :)

Ooooh what Orchard Grass are you using? Do you have a link at all please? :)

ahh thank you! so you prefer that to the western timothy hay?
