I'm looking to order cubes for a c&c cage, which will be quite large eventually - ca 5 m2. The cubes and connectors appear to be fairly expensive for that, especially as I'm considering a stand. I think I will need at least 10 packs of the Wayfair ones...

I was wondering if any of you used this kind of cubes (which are cheaper and look nice enough) and how they compare to the standard grid/mesh ones:

I see that they're widely used in Germany by piggy owners, but my German is fairly rudimentary (I understand it, but don't speak it), so I can't ask there :)

Oh, and any suggestions for sourcing 3 correx sheets cheaply online?

I use them at the back and sides of my cage and use the normal grids at the front. They are not as strong as grids due to being made of a kind of plasticy stuff but they do the job ok.

I have my new piggies in a cage made of these just now for their quarantine period. I had bought them a while back and used some for a 'floor time retreat'. I have reinforced them with cable ties as well as the connectors and they seem quite sturdy. There are a few drawbacks: your piggies can't see out, it's a nightmare to attach a water bottle, they have to be complete size - you can't overlap them, and they are a bit smaller than C&C so it gives you different heights/lengths if you mix and match (I didn't realise that until they arrived). That said, they're doing the job well enough and they are waaaay cheaper.DSC_0226.webp DSC_0330.webp .

Your stand can be a table instead of made out of grids if that helps with the cost and the construction.

The grids you’ve identified are perfectly secure and easy to assemble. I have something similar to them as a shoe storage unit in my own home -we use them for shoes. Is there any way you could use them at the back and sides of the enclosure and use open grids at the front so the piggies can see out and you can attach a water bottle to the cage?

Possibly, I don't know.

Currently, the 3 pigs are in a 160 x 60 cage as a temporary measure, which I'm conscious is less than ideal, but they have access to a large run, so I think I have a few days to decide on the best and most cost-effective CandC solution...

I'm not sure these grids would be compatible with the standard Grids, as they're different size and thickness (I believe), so I couldn't use the same connectors.

Thanks for your input!

I really think I'd like to use the grid ones - I'd miss seeing their little faces begging me for veggies from inside the cage.

Ive just ordered one pack of these to make an indoor run area. Does one pack not go very far?

The 4x2 in my post above left about half a dozen grids over if I remember correctly (there was a complete base on it too). The ones I had were slightly smaller than the usual C&C grids, but perfectly serviceable. I would have a 5x2 in this if it had been for permanent use.
