anyone with deaf piggie?

just wondering? Gideon is completely deaf but this is a small price to pay for the fact that his immune system is improving daily and he is over the worst of the pnemonia he's still a little chesty but is well out of the woods but unfortunately the vet realized he is totally deaf thats why when he wheeks it sounds funny and why he rarely does it i know it's not life threatening but was wondering how itll affect him long term i have to tap my foot before i go near the cage so he can feel the vibrations so i don't startle him to death.
anyone else have a deaf piggy?
 
I've neve really thought about it to be honest I've had two blind pigs but not a deaf as far as I know
 
i was just wondering cos i've never heard of piggies being deaf and vet said it's a bit unusual but it doesn't seem to effect him all that much and it's probably something he was born with due to the inbreeding i mean apart from not making much noise and getting easily startled i haven't really noticed that much difference between him and my other piggies
