What has happened to my piggies! They are eating for England and getting through a whole bucketful of veggies each day. They look so happy and cant get to the shed door quickly enough when they hear my voice, then they all come running down the ramp into the outdoor space till they remember that I feed them inside then they all rush back in again,so funny.

Of course theyhave unlimited hay and dried food as well.

Mine are eating more in this cold weather we are having. I have 4 boars in my utlity room and 2 sows in the living room. Maybe it's just something built in them all. :)

My 4 just spend they day eating, the have timothy hay, wagg optimum and loads of fresh veg.
my other half drove to every sainsburys, morrisons, asda and tescos but they were all shut, he then drove to tesco express just to get some green beans, as this is their favorite food.

whatever it is, isn't built into my little dot of a guinea pig meeka.. she hardly eats any veg, everything i give her she nibbles on and leaves it shredded up in her cage, like carrots she just chips them to bits and sometimes she'll eat it all up the day after but more often than not leaves it for me to clean up! she eats cabbage quite well, and cucumber/celery go down a treat as does brocolli stalk and rhubard chard/fresh grass but shes extremely fussy! she does eat a lot of hay though so maybe she fills up on that.. she hasnt put any weight on since i brought her inside :( she hasnt lost any though so thats good :)

My girls do that with carrots, they put the bits in their pellet bowls! I now give them half an inch each of carrot and they seem to like it that way.

Maybe grating would help?

maybe.. although knowing meeka she wouldnt touch it because its 'different' lol i dont know why she doesnt eat very much, i give her plenty of variety.. luckily she likes peppers and they are packed with vitamin C as she doesnt eat much dry food either, so i give her a few different types of hay to munch her way through

Funny ! Does she drink? I've one Sow that does and one that doesn't, all boys do! Peppers are gifts from the angels! Mine all love them. I'm finding greens hard to come by right now though so have to give red which I don't like doing because of the sugars!

yeah she drinks loads! shes like a fish lol her brother shakey did, and i became concerned about it and i guess i was right to be as her brother died in september at 9 months old :'( i think they are inbred though, so that may count towards it as dixie was in a cage with her brothers! duke seems healthy enough, he eats well and is 860g so i consider that quite a good weight.. i think archie is going to outgrow him though he's 3 1/2 months and 806g lol he's a tubby little thing!
