apple twigs are yummy!

i got the pets some apple twigs off someone selling them on the rabbit forum and ches and maisie love them! they have been nibbling them for ages! :)) looks like they are having a great teeth workout! :))
 
Mine love apple twigs too, but just the bark :) I always ask people with garden access to bring the piggies twigs...

I found apple twigs packaged in plastic and card in the pet store. Is that the very definition of eco-unfriendlt or what?! They were about 8 in the package, 10 cm long for about 2 pounds! LOL!

i paid £2.50 for 10 twigs... but they are being sold to raise money for a rescue so that's good. :)
 
very good. These were Karlie, I think, and goodness knows how long it's been since they were packed up and sent from Germany!

I bet yours were fresh!

yes, they were fresh. gave them to the bunnies, bisc and matt, and they just had a little nibble at first then left them, but in the last hour they have eaten all but one of them! :))

ches and maisie have eaten a whole one and nearly the other aswell. they keep stripping the bark off. really cute. x)

when she has more for sale i think i better buy more! :))
 
must hunt those out locally - I've only lived in omagh for a few months - still wouldn't know if anyone local has apple trees in their garden. I'm sure my o/h was telling me about picking apples as a child recently (he was bought up just a few doors down from where we live now) but I wasn't really listening :red
 
I have a pear tree in my front garden, I shall have to get some twigs and see what the pigs think :)... xx
 
my mum and dad have a huge willow true in their garden.... until this week! they had it chopped down! i could have got loads of willow branches and twigs for the pets! mallethead

they seem to prefer the twigs from the apple tree though. need to find someone with an apple tree now! :))
