Apple twigs! (videos)

I "rescued" some twigs that we had to cut off my mother-in-law's apple tree because they got in the way and brought tham back home for the piggies - it was a great success as you can see!

I did exactly the same thing the day before yesterday, found a crab apple tree in the park and broke off loads of branches and took it home for my two, I noticed the leaves actually smell of apple, they really enjoyed it. I'm going back today with my secateurs! I only found out they eat them through advice on this lovely forum.

Yes, he can eat the leaves, bark and chew apple and pear wood! :))

You may find that he likes the leaves best! :)) It is more an occasional treat than a daily part of the diet, though.
 
Oh they look like they are having a fantastic time there :)
My parents have apple and pear trees....mmmh...... think I might pop round there at the weekend and check on their trees for them :)) and come home with bits :))

ahhhh! I wish I had known this when I had Rodney, my parentst have apple and pear trees in their garden...ho hum..my fault really for not finding out.

I have an apple tree in my new garden, and planning on getting some pigs when I move so I can spoil them! :)

An from Saturday I will be pig sitting my friends boar Charlie...so will go and get some for him
