Applying Ivermectin

I have just applied on the Spot on Ivermectin to my guinea and it says a 2nd does is to be given in 10 days, how important is it to give the 2nd does ?
 
The second dose is to kill any eggs left by the parasite. Pretty important unless you want to start the process all over again. ;)
 
Grand thanks, I wondered why it has such a big gap of 10 days? I was thinking that alot could have started up again by then. I have the 2nd one so I'll put that on too in 10 days.
 
I think the gap is to stop toxicity levels building up and effecting the piggy
