So I was wondering what kind of donation is addequette for an a rescue piggie.
Would this be a good enough donation?
Bag of substrate, small bale of hay, Piggie food and £5 or do you think just money is better?
X thank you!

Thank you x I haven't got too much money at the moment so I'm just trying my best to earn some :'p

It is difficult when you do not have money but do not want your little one to be lonely.

It is a shame. You can just never predict if it will work out.
I know :\ it's weird cause Harvey is usually super lazy, and just never bothered with dominance when we had Darwin and Loki x

Personality is the key. Some just will not tolerate others just like us!

I wish there were more rescues. My nearest is two hours away. My boyfriend had to collect mooli as I get travel sick so could not cope with getting buses.

Ahh luckily mine is literally behind my house x
I'm hoping to call her later to see if she has had any more rescue babies x

Different rescues are asking for different donations. It is best to ask them when you contact them. Fees are around £15-30 for a single boar, more for a neutered boar - remember that your donation will not even cover the cost of the qarantine and a vet check!

Each rescue is different Walsall RSPCA our local branch who are amazing by the way :) Have these adoption costs

Pair Females £25
Pair Un-neutered males £25
Pair Neutered males £35

Rescues have to charge to cover costs and speaking from experience the costs above come no where near to covering the cost of a piggies stay at rescue, especially when you are looking at neutered boys... Also food, bedding, vets visits etc..... Neutering is £40 alone.

When I got Honey and Bea from Rugby Rabbit and Guinea pig rescue (now sadly closed ) I paid £25 per piggy meaning £50 - but as they were both spayed at the rescue the spaying costs would have been over £150,so you can see why rescues struggle to survive .

I do wonder how rabbit rescues do it - they usually charge about £60 per neutered/spayed rabbit which has normally had vaccinations too - and that in no way reflects the vet bill.

OP - maybe you could ask the rescue what their suggested donation is?

I took in my three boars from a private rescue and the lady was so thankful to get homes for all three that she was refusing any money and I ended up forcing a tenner into her hand. I felt really bad about that I was prepared to give her more!

I gave £40 for my 2 original boars. I paid £45 per rescue rabbit in the past too which is nothing (a neuter at my vets is £100 and vacs are £36 so the adoption fee goes nowhere near it). In terms of regular donations I send the odd sack of the rescues chosen food to them, I prefer not sending money to rescues I dont know personally as food cannot be used wrongly really vs money which is easy to steal.
