Archie And The Baby Vole

So today I was standing just outside my back door, we have a dry moat thing out there, and I saw this tiny baby vole sitting there, so I caught him, he was so adorable. He was literally like a tiny guinea pig, he did all the things Archie does to me; licking my hand, sleeping on my hand, nuzzling my armpit, nuzzling in my hair and nibbling it, popcorning. He even got the tiniest hiccups possible. Archie really liked meeting him, he did his love rumble noise, if you listen in the video you can hear him make it, he was so gentle and friendly to the baby vole.
The baby vole was cheeky, he didnt want to leave me, but I put him in the vole track, the adults make a little runway through my flowerbed, and he nibbled some grass then walked into the flowers, and I saw a sibling baby vole wandering about in there! It must be their first time out the nest cause I havent seen them before, only the adults.

I saw a tiny baby vole last time I went to Dovedale, it was so so small and sweet and just sitting in the pathway!

Oh my gosh, that's amazing that he just sits in your hand like that! How very lucky you are to have found him! I love ALL of our small wild furries!

They are so bold when they are babies. I caught another, different baby one today, this one was more active and he was really interested in archie, sniffing away at him, archie sniffing back. They really are like tiny guinea pigs they are just so damn cute too.
