Because most rodents are. I know it's not very good of me if I've been doing so much reserch on them to ask this dumb question. But are they?

Piggies are not nocturnal but they are active sometimes during the night. They tend to snooze on and off during the day and night!
 
They nap rather than sleep...I think it goes back to the days when their ancestors lived on the plains - had to keep an eye open for predators. I know mine nap - mid morning, after lunch, before dinner and then through the night...at any given time one of them is normally pottering about! Oh, to be a piggy! :smitten:
