Are Hammocks Good Or Bad?

I have a guinea pig hammock that I bought a while ago. I’m not sure if I should put it in my guinea pigs cage or not. Are they safe?

I had one I put it low down though I remember it was fine. I haven't got a pic of it in use I made one out of a bit of fleece....

I made my own. My guinea pigs love them so much that I have to remove the pile of poops from inside them at least 3 times a day! (inside the hammocks, not the guinea pigs!)

I have umpteen bought ones, one exactly the same as this one but found them quite difficult to hang properly. Felt Id to shorten the straps as I was afraid that the babies would get tangled up in the long straps. They also didn't seem to give them anywhere to hide so Id to put another piece of material over the top! Ive now copied the ones that @Eileen's Mum does which work better!

Do your piggies sleep on the top layer as well? I like the extra layer as mine use both to sleep on. I don't see them as much on the top one but I know they use it because they leave poops up there!

I might have a bash at the corner design! Haven’t spotted anyone on the top!
