Hello My name Is Sarah.

I have two male Guinea Pigs Jeffery(3 months) and Sonic (2 1/2 months). I recently gave our 3rd guinea pig Jasper to our close friend as the bonding wasn't happening and thought it best for everyone that Jasper goes to a new home (Jasper has a male friend) We had only had Jasper for 4 days but after being attacked we decided.

There Cage is a 2x5 C&C cage with 2 houses, a tunnel, a log, a hidey area (made from fleece), two bowls and two waters.

But I've noticed for awhile now (3 weeks) that Jeffery and Sonic aren't as active as I thought they would be. They do get up and eat/drink/hay but I feel it's rare they run around and play. When laying down in their own little homes they seemed relaxed but I worry they aren't as active as they should.
They have an hour of floor time a day, with tunnels, food and toys and they kinda roam around but not really playing like I've seen on youtube.

I am a new guinea Pig owner and a bit of a stress head, I want the best life they can possibly have.

It sounds like they have a lovely set up and the roaming time is great- is it possible that they could just be more active at night? My boar Mo has days where he'll just lounge around all day and eat whilst laying down! But then on others he'll be running around his cage like a mad man. Signs of contentment are little jumps in the air- popcorning-or spreading their feet out when they are laying down shows a very relaxed piggy! Hope this helps but if you are really worried try convincing them to do activities by offering treats or hiding them in their tunnels etc. And as always there is always the vet. :)
Guinea pigs can slow down as they mature so don't fret too much is sure your boys are fine.

Hello, thank you so much, from what you are saying they are happy piggies :)

They might just prefer to run about when noone is in the room due to them being prey animals. I'm pretty sure my boys are like that. My C&C is on a stand and sometimes when I go to bed at night, I hear them running about before I go to sleep (They are in the living room).

Hello, it's nice to welcome another Aussie to the forum! My piggies are very chilled out and 'lazy' while we're awake, but I can definitely hear them when we head off to bed!

Hey guys, so my partner and I stayed up a bit later than normal last night and totally noticed a difference in activity Sonic (the name fits him haha) was running around like a wild man, like when we first got him and even Jeffery joined in (he seems like a wise old piggy but really he's only 3 months) I love knowing they are okay and happy and thank you so much for the response :)
