I have two hutches that I know happily fit three pigs but after recently loosing Rosie I have been wondering if Poppy and Daisy would like two more friends instead of just one (if my OH agrees :)))

They are a bit over 3x2ft and have two floors. The actual floor space is around 12 square feet which is enough for 4.

Rosie in the dining room. The bedroom is the same size nextdoor. You can see the tunnel for the ramp behind her.

Yup. They just have hay in the bedroom but it doesn't stay in there. They have different hidey houses with fleece and cushions downstairs.

I've seen these and I think they're big enough. They have places for piggies to go to to get away from each other if needed, a suprising amount of space overall.

The question is then how will Jonny react to the idea of going from 5/6 to 8 :)) If I got Poppy and Daisy two friends I would have to get one for Charlotte, Lexi and Kizzy, can't have 7. I would also like the opinion of a rescue as to whether they would be happy to rehome pigs to live as a 4 here.

Humm. His mum would notice though and tell him. She is always fussing over them.

While in theory if you added both levels of floor space together it would be enough square footage for 4, in reality the fact that it's on two levels and you lose useable floor space either end of the ramp, it is below the minimum requirements for 4. Plus many piggies won't use a ramp, which would isolate them to one level.

Don't get me wrong, it looks like a super hutch and I'm sure your piggies are very happy in it (they look it!) but as a rescue I wouldn't put 4 piggies in there, 3 max.
