i got my piggies about 6 weeks ago and i give them hay all of the time, fruit and veg everyday ( about 2 handfuls 2 times a day) and give them about 1 handful of gerty guinea pig each a day and fill it up if its empty. are they eating to much?

No, that sounds just about right! The thing with guineas is that they only eat when they need to. As long as they have access to a large area for a bit of play and exercise they will be fine on that....

Do you give them a good variety of fruit and veg?

we give them about 4 or 5 different fruits and veg a day. we have got a hutch outside and a cage inside but they are only just getting used to the hutch so when there OK with it theyll have lots of exercise and lots of places to play, thanks for your help

Hiya,

Sounds about right. You should give a constant supply of Hay (I get the Herbage one from P @ H) I give my boys three veggies a day (carrot, celery and cucumber) Round Lettuce or flat leaf parsley twice a week) I give the three veggies in the morning and three in for dinner. I give Tesco guinea pig mix twice a day and consists of four handfuls in two bowls. I am giving them too much I think in that respect but the bowls are only small.

Sounds about right really. If you find you're having lots of veg left every day, then I guess you could reduce it. But i doubt that will happen ;D

Unless like mine you have very fussy little piggies who refuse to eat any fruit :tickedoff:
