I have noticed recently that Eleanor and Eliza have felt heavier. I weighed them today and Ellie weighs 820 grams (she is half the size in looks as Eliza) and Eliza weighs 1030 grams :o The last time I weighed them, Ellie was 730 grams and Eliza was 950 grams. I don't understand where this sudden weight gain has come from as they are still eating the same diet. They are however lazy piggies and prefer to just 'chill out' at floor time :)) They both look very healthy and neither of their bellies are dragging on the floor xx

don`t know weights for piggys, but my sow star has got a portly tum on her i noticed this morning, she is a greedy piggy though, she mows the lawn for me.:)p

They sound just fine Claire. Their weight will fluctuate from time to time. Do you weigh them weekly, or just as and when?

I'd be far more concerned about a loss than a gain. My lot put on 1-2 ounces each in the last few weeks due to less exercise and more pellets than usual. I've cut the pellets right down again and that on it's own has stabilised everyones weight within their normal ranges. A good old run around the floor and they'll all be toned up in no time!

The last time I weighed them was 3 weeks ago :red It's because the battery ran out and it took me ages to buy a new one :))

We've all been there! Three weeks is a fair time to gain the weight, at least it wasn't all put on suddenly in one week! *Glances over at Dexter who went up another couple of ounces to 3lb 10oz*

The weight sounds just fine! Remember that for the first time in quite some time for either lady, both are completely happy, stressfree piggies!

I thought mine had surely got close to finishing growing but at last count george was about 1050 and tiger 950 and still seem to be getting bigger lol! :)) again no stamch dragging so they seem ok just big piggies!

If yours are fat then mine must be obsese LOL My smallest girl is 1000g and the biggest 1150g.

They dont look fat and can run around all day. Have a varied diet so I think some are just bigger than others

what do people think is a "normal" weight range?

I go on 2lb - 4lb, which is about 800g-1800g, give or take on either side. Most fall in the 2-3lb range somewhere but it can be very normal to get a pig who weighs just under 2lb, or up to 4lb!

I wouldn't worry - it depends on size too, as some pigs can look 12 weeks old when they're a year old, and others will be the size of cats :)p

Thank you! I knew the range was large but not what the range could be. :))
