I'd like to adopt a pair of boars who would be outside at least part of the year. We have a bit of an iffy relationship with one neighbour who kept complaining about how noisy our bantam hens were (i agree that they were and sadly rehomed even though we have yo put up with summer heavy metal death rock music).

I don't want to take on new pets and have a similar issue. Had piggies before and remember the loudest noise being the excited "wheek wheek" noise.

Houses are detached with another drive way between the gardens. Hutch would be on our garage wall about 30 foot from other farden.

Some are louder than others! One of my pigs has a super-loud wheek, the other one's top volume is much quieter. Generally I'd say they could be heard occasionally if the windows were open in summer but not all day long.

Some piggies can be quite loud wheekers and no doubt once your neighbour knows you have them they will start complaining again. I would consider having a back up plan for if the arguments with the neighbour get bad. I.e. is there space to keep them indoors permanently?

Thanks for replies. I can't keep inside permanently as out house alarm will detect them unless cage is covered. They could be in front garden instead of back garden as the neighbours house is set far back off the road behind another house. Their house is sort of back to front do our back garden is next yo theirs.

I have outside piggies and they only really make a noise when it's veg time and when they think it should be veg time. Meg has the loudest wheek you have ever heard and I am surprised such a small animal can make such a loud noise - she sounds like she is being murdered!
