I have 2 piggys (Bruno and Wolfey) who I got from the adoption center in a pet shop. Last week I saw 2 piggys who needed to be adopted, one of them came up to the glass and gave me eye contact, my heart melted, a week has gone by and they are still up for adoption, I am so tempted, but if I get them I plan to slowly introduce them to my other 2 boys, how likly is it they will get along with each other? I see people with mass amount of piggys in c&c cages who all get along, if they get along I will also get a new cage for all of them so new smells and terreortory.

Four male piggies together? Very unlikely I'm afraid. I'm no expert (I'm sure others will help more) but from what I understand they can only really live in pairs due to dominance aggression in bigger groups. Too much testosterone in one cage I would imagine! When you see large groups of piggies living together they're probably a group of females as they can be in large social groups pretty happily.

If you did get them it would probably be better for the already bonded two newbies to have their own cage or you could risk your existing piggies falling out as well. It's a delicate balance with boars from what I've read, but hopefully other boar experienced piggy slaves can advise further.

Good luck!

Hi and welcome

Yes I am afraid to say that when you hear people talking about their group or herd they will be talking about females. It can be a neutered male with a group of females as well. Unfortunately boars generally are best in a pair with one more dominant over the other. You could take on the other two boys but would need to keep them in separate cages each in their own existing pair.

I know how had it is to resist. They are just to darn adorable  xx
