So recently the guinea pigs have not been drinking their new water bottle. So i decided to get them a new one. I surfed the internet for good guinea pig water bottles that guinea pigs will drink. I came along a water bottle called the sippy cup. I've never seen one before so I decided to ask you guys. I have a couple of questions.
1. can most guinea pigs drink out of sippy cups? I've heard that some guinea pigs have trouble with the angle it is at.
2. Is it easy to drink out of? The new water bottle that i bought seemed to be hard to drink out of, so that was my guess of why the guinea pigs did not want to drink out of it.
3. honestly, should i wait a little longer for them to get used to the new water bottle? they have 2 water bottles in there cage, but they only use 1 of them.
i took the one that they use out for an hour to get them used to the new water bottle, but they didn't drink anything when i came back.
Should i wait a few more days for them to get used to the new water bottle? And if I should, how do i get them to be used to it?

yes i agree!
i'm afraid that coco and oreo will not be able to drink from it.
If they aren’t drinking from the new one you get them (which I seem to recall from your other thread, looked normal) I wouldn’t have thought they’d drink from that one

I love the sippy bottles!
Once a pig gets the hang of it, they generally prefer it to regular bottles. I bought one a bit ago because I had a terminally ill pig and he would drink a ton because of it. He found using regular bottles frustrating and would start to pull on the metal spout and get angry. I’d heard sippy bottles were easier so I had to get one!
I was anxious at first because Hoo, the terminally ill pig, was always awkward with bottles. My other pig could get the hang of anything, but Hoo was the type of pig that wouldn’t drink if the bottle wasn’t just right.
Anyway, he quickly managed to drink from this - faster than the other which shocked me. He loved it too, it made life tons easier and it doesn’t drip loads like regular bottles do.
Both pigs could use it perfectly by the end of the day, whilst the angle is a little odd, once they know how to do it, it’s excellent. They get a lot more water with a lot less effort.
Mine unfortunately has started to leak a little, which can happen after a while. But I would never go back to a different bottle - it changed my life!
Make sure you have a jug or a cup or something to refill the water from the top. Otherwise you’re constantly unscrewing the bottle from the side of the cage.

I use a sippy bottle as well as the usual type. Granville uses both of them. I tend to put the sippy bottle a little bit higher than usual one for ease of the guinea pig drinking. It attaches to the C and C wire and projects far enough away from the wire for the guinea pig to drink. I cannot use it in the outdoor run as the water nozzle is too big to go through the wire.

We’ve tried the sippy bottles, not all piggies get on with them. But they are super easy to clean, maintain and top up.

These bottles are good and work on a lever drip system. However I had one and despite many attempts mine just wouldn't use it :))

Mine use the Classic Bottles. The bottles have a double ball bearing in the spout so don't tend to leak but you have to have them properly upright and no air bubbles in when you fill them up so that the vacuum is there.

I had one but it leaked everywhere. Went back to the classic bottles.

The school guinea pigs had one and seemed to get on ok with it. But I find it a little odd unless you put it quite high up.

I can’t attach a normal bottle to my cage (I don’t have grids) so I gave up and the boys have water bowls now. Finn likes to drop his pellets in to soften them up, then apple bob them back out and eat them, which is hilarious (and messy if he then wanders off before picking them back out). Generally speaking bowls have worked pretty well for me though in case you’re considering going really old school 😂
