Are there guinea pig ghosts looking after their relatives or friends?

I have 5 `radio baby cameras` in various sheds and hutches. The images are picked up by 5 small back and white (monochrome) TV monitors around in my bedroom, kitchen, PC room and living room.

The picture quality is excellent once the TV small airial is moved around to catch the best picture.

Very rarely, I have seen what looks like floating circles (with a dark centre) float around the hutch and around the piggies. They remind me of frogs spawn. Sometimes it stops and hovers but after only a second or two it disappears. I`ve even seen two and three at the same time. Some are small, some appear to be larger. I wish I had a recorder, I might look into this at a later date.

I have discarded hover fies / wasps because they can be seen as insects on the good quality picture. Also, I have seen the circles hovering in the winter time when most flies are hibernating. It always happens at night time. I`ve never seen them in daylight on the monitor. I`ve gone out to the sheds to see whats going on but seen nothing unusual going on. The piggies are normal and are never spooked at any time. The monitors have sound and the piggies don`t make any out of the ordinary sounds. The whole phonominon has got me puzzled.

I`ve never mentioned this to anyone but have decided to go public on this site in the hope of finding a scientific rational explanation.

I`m NOT a psychic and don`t particularly believe in ghosts of any kind but this has got me thinking if there are ghost piggies. Oh, bye the way, none of my piggies have died in the sheds / hutches. In fact none have died yet.

Looking forward to your sensible opinions.

As you say it could be flies,but also dust particles reflect the light and make them look Orb like.

Orb's dart about and are fairly quick, what a fascinating thought though, it is something I ponder about. It would be good to see, have you recorded any?

Oh just read it through properly, I've just got in from work and getting a bit weary, shame you've not got any recording equipment.

Interesting topic. I have no experience of videos, but I have photographed orbs many times in my room, above and around the pigs cages. Some of the orbs were very strong in the days after each of my piggies died, with some even having a blue colour to them. (Blue orbs are said to be healing orbs. One of these was photographed next to my very ill piggies cage two days before she died.)

In terms of photographs, orbs tend to be "explained away" easily, usually as being dust particles, or the light bouncing off something in the room. Having taken photos affected by dust particles, and having had the light bounce off things, the effect is startlingly different. Orbs only ever appear in small numbers, usually just one or two, although up to seven in some of my photos (we have lost seven pets) and they can be faint, defined, bright, small or large. I can share some pics if anyone is interested. Would be intrigued to know of others who have come across such things, either like Anders or like me!

I would love to see photos of the orbs. This is a subject that has always fascinated me. I would like to think that past pets visit from Rainbow Bridge. I lost Bob over two years ago now, yet I often think I catch a glimpse of her running into the house in the cage she used to share with Farquhar.

Wow what a wonderful thing to see! i do believe in most of that purely as ive experienced some very strange things, i wonder who or what the orb is?
Some things i have experience in photos that are strange
(before my experiences i didnt believe in any of it)

a photo of my fish when they were in the tank,when i got the photo developed my tank was shattered in the image & had no fish:{

i took a baby photo of Ava and in the plaster wall behind her was a distinct shadow of a face and looked to be of a man possibly in the 1900's as he looked very old fashioned.

another picture was very strange as it had my OH in it and when the photo was developed dangling from knowhere as we were in the middle of the room was a ribbon that was from my deceased grandmother which i know for a fact had never been out of the craft box(it had been there for years) and there was noone who could have taken it out.

there was also pics of ava having a bath and in numerous bath photos there were numbers made out of bubbles,number 6 was very common but i dont know what this meant.

I also heard strange voices and doors slamming all the time even with no windows or wind to do it,footsteps down the hallway were another common thing.

this was my first house ever and was very old,i later found out the elderly couple had passed away in the house which worried me a little but explained what i was seeing and hearing,I'm sure they werent angry as they were never hostile just letting us know they were there.
I did move out mainly because of all those things as it worried me a little

And yes i have never told anyone this apart from mum as i didnt want anyone to think i was strangerolleyes
i believe 100% in what you have seen as i now think anything is possible,would love to see some pics,will possbily raids mums pc for my pics as i only had a standard camera at the time and had to scan pics into the pc xx
 
Thank you CCC4 for your frank contribution. At least I now know I`m not going daft.

I`d love to see some pics of your orbs (as you call them). I will try and sort out a recording device in the shed but it might take a few weeks.

I have an idea which should prove (or disprove) the theory of ghostly piggies around their relatives / loved friends. I sometimes `take in` guest piggies for friends while they`re on holiday. If I see `orbs` when they are with me then observe no orbs after they have left my shed it should prove something?

Also, I hope people keep to the original topic and not slide of into `human ghost` sightings etc. My thread is about guinea pigs ghostly sightings and stories.

Wow how fascinating! I don't have any unusual sightings to share but I'm looking forward to the possibility of seeing some pictures / recordings and reading more stories!
I'm not a 'believer' as such, but then I'm not sceptical about it either...

Just to update I will get pictures on here - just having trouble uploading at the moment so whenever they finally upload, I will post them here!
 
Sorry it took so long!

This first photo was taken on 1st April 2008, three days after my first piggie, Charlie, had died. The orb on my bed is exactly where I used to sit him to Reiki him and treat his conditions:

This second photo was taken on New Years Eve 08, in between the deaths of my two girls. Lottie died on 27th December, Tuppy was very ill with dental and systemic fungal problems. Look closely at the blueish orb in the lower left hand corner, on the corner of Tuppy's cage - the colour indicates a healing energy. There's also a blue orb on the curtains.

Five days after that photo, on 4 January 09, Tuppence also died. I took this photo shortly after she passed (I moved the cage as it seemed very depressing, having lost two pigs so close together). The orb on the curtains came up rather strongly!:

I do have a few others though these are the best examples, and all these pictures were taken in the days before/after the deaths of my beloved guins.
 
Please note that I am a firm believer in Ghosts, but the orbs look simply like a 'dusty' camera lense. I am not saying that your camera is dusty etc, it's just the 'orbs' are a perfect circle. So called spectral orbs are more denser. It is interesting though because I often wonder if my pet dog Prince still follows me around.

I found using night vision camera in our shed (to stop thieves) caught an orb floating in a straight line upwards.

I am truly fascinated with the subject.
 
Fair enough. Dust is a common theory, but dust should then appear in every photo taken at that time, right? Since the lens was not interfered with in any way before or after the photos were taken. These photos were the only ones, of many at the time, with such appearances; all successive photos were completely clear aside from these few.

I appreciate the difficulties in determining what is genuine though, and I know how touchy a subject this is. I have seen some incredible examples from various spiritual circles, these are not a patch on them!
 
Wow! That has given me goosebumps. I would love to think that is the spirit of a piggy visiting from Rainbow Bridge. That would be such a comforting thought. I have always been intrigued by this compelling subject. Thanks for sharing those photos.
 
I am a believer as my family members have come back to see me and our pets who have gone have also come back.
That is why i always say we will meet again as we will as its been proved to me there is another life we go to.

How comforting to think that little ones who have passed on might have a way to visit us, whether we realise it at the time or not.
I'm sure that we could find lots of 'rational' explanations for your orb pictures if we wanted to, but what matters really is what they mean to you. My opinion is that your photographs, combined with your explanations of the events surrounding the time they were taken, are just too coincidental to be dismissed.
Thank you again, I hope that when the time comes I might be visited by my boys - it would reassure me that they had had a happy life with me

Those `orbs` are awsome. It appears they only show up on a camera. I wonder why they can`t be seen by the naked eye.

At risk of posting something very controversial, my grandmother sees various energies in the form of colours and lights, and has also seen true "spirits" (in the form of deceased persons). The description of a friend who died four years ago (who I have never mentioned and she never knew) and the message she passed on to me were 100% Hannah, my friend.

It seems they are visible to a select few, but to be able to see them is to be *exceptionally* open and sensitive to them and often deeply involved in spirituality. It is not something that can be attempted. They show up on camera and some recordings because it is the gentlest way for such forms to "contact us" without terrifying us! Likewise with dreams.

The natural is to be sceptical, it is only one who can see them who knows for sure what they see, hear and feel!
