Just curious... I've never heard of a guinea pig being vaccinated, but an acquaintance is insisting they make vaccines for all animals including guinea pigs. I figured if anyone would know it would be you guys- especially since the care that piggies get in the UK seems to be more comprehensive than what most get here in North America!

we do not routinely vaccinate guinea pigs as there are no illnesses common to piggies that can be vaccinated against. (to my knowledge)

there's no routine vaccines for GPs in the UK like there is for cats, dogs, rabbits and ferrets, but the vaccines and what they prevent are based on problems in the area which can and does vary from country to country.

It has been "postulated" that Bordetella bronchiseptica vaccine "could" work for piggies (URI probs) but to date I am not aware of any vet proposing/prescribing this in the UK
