I used to give these to my piggies and they used to love them but I stopped giving them about a year ago as I heard that they could potentially be unsafe. Does anyone know if they are safe for piggies? I see them/the material most at pets at home. But yeah they do a lot of these chews made out of this material whether its a carrot one or bridge or anything but wasn't sure if safe or not.

Without knowing what it is made of it is difficult to say.

I never buy any commercial chew or toy items - most are gimmicks to get you to part with your money for little benefit to the piggies. The only thing they need to chew and the only thing that has any real benefit to their teeth is hay and grass.

I think that they are made of compacted woodshavings. I would not give them to my piggies in case they swallow the material as it could cause a blockage. The main tooth conditioning item in the piggies' diet is fresh hay. Give them enough good quality hay to eat and to make nests in and they will have enough enrichment and tooth conditioner. Hay needs to be changed every day. It is the most fun and healthy thing you can give your piggies (unless you have a meadow😉) ❤
