Are these Dandelions ?

They also dry quite nicely and make useful additional forage.
I tend to cut loads and leave them in the sun to dry, or even spread out on newspaper in a sunny window.

I can't paste the link but try the foremost horticultural body in the uk.... Rhs.org.uk/dandelions there are good pictures of the very recognisable leaves.

Winny ran away from hers 🙈🙈🙈the other scoffed theirs in 0.01 seconds 😜

Why l ask is because the picture, the stem looked slightly furry ,if so it's the cats ear dandelions and l ten not to feed to must of them to my piggies.

I have exactly 1 dandelion flower in my garden, I am hoping it gets pollinated and makes dandelion clock seeds so I can collect them and add them to my indoor windowboxes of piggy food!
To help it to grow more ,keep picking one or two leafs of it, the plant starts to think it's under threat and will produce more flowers.

If the shops run out of spinach its under serious threat, it only has 6 leaves and we have 8 hungry piggies! I will tell it that and hope my garden hoverfly friend who has been hanging around for the last few days pollinates it for me :)

I find the cats ears usually flower later in the year where I live but I agree those stalls lol a little furry but still safe to eat

Not wanting to detail the thread but its not worth a post on its own... what does anyone think about raspberry leaves as fresh forage? My raspberry bush is looking quite leafy at the moment, I know raspberry leaves are safe in moderation, but are they nutritious? How are they for vit C and calcium content? If I was to feed some, how many leaves per piggy and what supermarket veg are they a good substitute for?

This is useful to know. I have a couple of HUGE dandelions in my garden so I'll just pick 4 leaves occasionally (1 for each piggy) and it should produce lots of flowers which my piggies go mad for.

I think they are nutritious and a good source of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C. Don't know about calcium level tho, would substitute them for something like spinach.

I wouldn't feed them if they were next to a busy road. As there would maybe like pollution from the cars on them.
