I would just like to check for sure whether piggies are allowed the following things: (I haven't been feeding them these yet as I wasn't sure and I imagine most would be for odd treats rather than main feeds)

Romaine lettuce (I've read it's the only lettuce they can have)
Tomato
Green/orange/yellow peppers - I know red is OK
watercress
cabbage
Banana

I would so hate to accidentally give them a bad tummy or worse.

Thanks ever so much. :)

mine love romaine (their favourite) so that is fine
Toffee loves tomatoes, but this is a food you give on rare occasions (once a week maybe)
cabbage is fine but I've heard it can make them gassy and gives them tummy ache if given too much (never experienced this but mine don't like it much, so never eat it all)
red and green peppers are fine, think the other ones are too (not 100% sure)
Banana is fine and they eat the skins too
water cress I'm not sure about.

mine get all colours of bell peppers, just make sure you dont get the hot peppers and they can have red/gree/yellow/orange :)

Romaine lettuce is fine.
We have the mixed bags of lettuce for tescos and occasionally give Rodney some.
1 of my guinea pigs was addicted to Tomatoes, i maybe gave him to many then as he ate 1 cherry tomato a day!
They didn't like cabbage that much, so we use Curly Kale or Sliced Greens.
I haven't tried the others

Guinea pigs can have Romaine lettuce, as well Red, Round, Boston/Butter/Bibb, Rocket, Frisbee, and other types of lettuce, but as you know avoid Iceberg. They can eat tomatoes in moderation. Bell / Sweet Peppers - red, green, yellow, orange (not hot or chilli) and Watercress are O.K. for guinea pigs. Cabbage (Green, Red, and Savoy) are all suitable for guinea pigs. Guinea pigs can have banana, but it has to be feed in great moderation, it can cause constipation.
There are other varieties of some of the above but you will probably not come across these varieties. ;)

i give all mine them but not tried banana yet but there cna have it

I've just put a banana split in half in the run between the five of them. They have only nibbled on the edge at the moment. Have I given too much?

sounds fine :) If you've just introduce it they will be a bit wary ;)

My piggies prefer just the skin- trouble is I end up eating the banana.

Mine never took to banana. They do love dandielion leaves the best and they are free and abundent this time of year :)

Thanks for all the help on this. BTW They didn't eat that much of the banana, it was only Truffle I saw who actually looked like she was loving it! they may take to it better next time
