Are these normal weights?

As some of you may already no, my Connie isn't well at the minute. Anyway, I was worried about her as she has lost a bit of weight since being on Baytril so I weighed both her and Eliza today. Connie is just under 750 grams and Eliza is just under 850 grams. Connie has always been a small pig. What weight should I start to worry and do these weights seem normal?

and then how long been sick........you see this all counts.... as the longer they been sick and on drugs etc... you need to be more aware ( and i know you are love) that their tummies can be so mucked around with the drugs and cause them huge problems :{

I just go by Guinea Lynx as being 700g minimum for girls I know that is lean really but depends on how active they are. Perl leans to the lighter side mainly because she is so active. :)
 
As everyone else has said Claire, I think piggies weight does vary. I weigh my 4 each week, I have a little chart on the fridge. On the odd occasion, Georges weight has gone down rather then up, but the following week, he usually makes up for it:). At the moment, Molly (9 months) is 980g, and Ruby (11 months) is 892g. The boys George (7 months) 1102g:)) and Alfie (6 months) is 1090g. Little porkers!:))

Some piggies are definately naturally smaller, and some are chunky little monkeys! Its always good to keep an eye on these things, but unless you notice anything drastic, I'd try not to worry too much babe.

Is Connie still eating well? x

Yes, she is still eating fine. They had a bowl of melon and cucumber between them this morning x
 
Weight really varies a lot, as everyone else has said. The only way to know what is normal for your pig is to weigh weekly. Weighing weekly and writing the weights down in a chart will also help you pick up on weight loss, which can be the first sign of illness. It's a habit well worth getting into. A pig who is actively ill will need weighing every 1-3 days, depending on the illness.

Some pigs are naturally dainty; I have a perfectly healthy pig who weighs 1lb 11oz (765g). Some are naturally chunky; I have three healthy pigs over 3lb (1360g).

My poorliest pig, who has dental problems, has dropped over about 500g in the past year; she is currently 600g after the sneaky development of new molar issues.
