I'm not sure what these are but Beans started to eat one while she was out on the grass. I managed to get it from her just as she had started to nibble on the stem... worried now!

Its clover but I'm not sure if it's okay for them to eat.
The white flower bit is clover? I thought clover was the green leaf bit..
(I'm absolutely useless at anything remotely related to plants/gardening etc:P)

If so, I just checked and guinea lynx says clover is okay on small amounts:nod:

They are not poisonous in small quantities, but not recommended to eat a whole lawn full of! Red clover is much better, but that is a more of a meadow and not so much a lawn plant these days. my piggies have never had any problems with eating a bit of white clover.

My lot eat the odd white clover too and never had any problems.
We get more red than white, but I don't think either are a problem in small amounts.

Thank you all. I had absolutely no idea what it was so had no idea how to check on Google if it was poisonous
She's never ate any before as I usually hand pick grass. I do worry about the slightest of things...

If the flowers don't give you a clue, the leaves are often more helpful in identifying plants.
And rest assured you are not the only one to worry about stuff.

I am currently in the process of typing a thesis type document to leave with the pet sitter next week.

As the others said...
Panic over
White Clover flowers there are loads on the lawn where my girls are, pink or white flowers my girls eat either, eating them in moderation shouldn't be a problem as long as its introduced gradually -the same as most new foodstuffs, to prevent digestive upsets. Sometimes you find the flower heads in bags of meadow hay.

It's clover. My pigs eat it all the time at the cottage. I just go over the area to make sure there are no mushrooms or plants I cant' identify and I pull those.

:D Yes, it is white clover. The flowers are perfectly safe. Also the purple flowers are okay too. But too much can give them wind!
