I've recently put my lot on Tesco guinea pig food and they seem to like it better than the pet shop stuff. However they are leaving the same bits and eating all their favourites. The bits they leave are brown and beige, tiny pellety things and seeds. But can it be that all five of my piggies hate these bits? I've been tipping them away and letting them get away with it but should I just leave their bowl in there till its completely empty? I guess if they're really hungry they'll have to eat it . . . but I don't like doing that really. Any advice?

I know you've just bought new food but maybe move them onto a pellet like pets at home nuggets that way they can't pick out what they want.

Our vet told us to make sure we leave the bunnies' bowls until they;ve eaten it all so that they get a balanced diet, but ours hate their pellets.. we try to leave them but George just wont' eat so we have to give him new stuff.

Our piggies liked the Tesco food but it hasn't been in our store for ages, plus I refuse to shop there after the Whistleblower program! At the moment they are on Gertie Guinea which they seem to like and eat most of it.. it is a good idea to try and leave it until they eat most of it so that they get a balanced diet but it is difficult!

It was horrendous - about how they keep meat and re-date it.. there's a thread on it in chit chat - if you saw it you wouldn't want another ready meal or anything from the deli counter again!

Agree. If they don't want to eat a certain piece of their cereal they won't, no matter how hard or what you do to make them. :)
