Most of you know my current situation with Willow and Tizzie so I'll keep it brief, both of them have blood in their urine intermittently, Tizzie seems to have improved recently and I haven't seen any blood from her for about 2 weeks, but I am very concerned about Willow, although she's eating well she seems a bit depressed, sleeping more, can be hunched sometimes, she seems to be in pain, she stands in her cage, looks at me and chatters her teeth, she is also shivering which is not normal for her. She had an ultrasound to check for stones, sludge etc but it came back perfectly healthy, should I settle for this or have an xray done of her? Some people have said ultrasounds can miss problems. Willow has a vet appointment tomorrow so I'd like to know what I should be asking them for, thank you.

As I understand it (but I may be wrong) X-rays are best for showing stones. Poor girl sounds like she is in some sort of discomfort.

I would go for the x rays too - good luck tomorrow

If she is out of sorts & shivering it could be a sign of infection :( My dental pig showed those signs & it turned out she had long tooth roots causing an abscess to start in her jaw. My vet took bloods under GA & x rays that discounted everything else. You really need to see a cavy savvy vet to get to the bottom of her problem.
