Adult Guinea Pig
My two are currently on the carpet with a pile of hay and are happily chatting away, popcorning and generally enjoying themselves and not causing any trouble whatsoever.
Chinchillas on the other hand would have chewed through cables, leapt up and knocked things off and have to be extricated from behind the gas fire by now! I have kept chinnies for many years and they are lovely, but when having free time out of the cage they can be a nightmare. I have had to rescue one from behind the gas fire, had one hurl himself out of an open window (yes, we got him back, none the worse for his adventure) and had numerous cables and household items destroyed by chinnies. :{
Believe me, piggies are a walk in the park after that! LOL!
