As you know we have two piggies, Columbo and Sir David. Anyway, when I have been feeding them sometimes I put the food in the air and Sir David would always go on his back legs and reach for the food and Columbo would look at us and go 'yeah right', so we always just gave Columbo his food. Anyway I would never force an animal to do something it doesn't want to do. Now after a couple of weeks of this, every time I go in the room. Sir David goes on his back legs and waggles his paws as though he is waving at me. Of course how can I ignore that, I then have to cut him a bit of cucumber or celery. I always give Columbo a bit too although he is looking at Sir David as though he is thinking 'what an idiot'. They are so clever and have such different personalities and thats what I love about them. I think I am a definite piggy slave....there is no hope for me :))

My oldest pig has worked out that if she stands on her hind legs she gets the food quicker!
There's some brilliant videos on You Tube of pigs doing tricks, fetching balls, jumping, giving paw - they are very clever. People completely underestimate them. :)

baxter has tried to stand up for food; i can tell he knows it's a good trick, but his legs get tired quickly so he can't do it more than once :) he also has problems stopping himself from rolling over onto his back because his bum's so fat!
