Big Dave is being a right little...yeah...and he's driving me mad!

He is chewing EVERYTHING!

Fleece has been confiscated as he was chewing it...

Puppy pads have been removed as he was chewing them...

Back to being bedded on newspaper and hay (which stinks after a few days!) and isn't ideal :(

He's chewing the cage base, his plastic pigloos, the food bowl....

Why is he chewing everything BUT the things that are meant to be chewed?! He has more hay than your average farmyard (timothy hay, cheapo farm hay, meadow hay, oat hay, readigrass....), willow stick bundles, a willow ball, one of them wooden playstix huts...

Bad Big Dave! Smacked bum coming his way before long! rolleyes :x pow-pow

Sorry but :))

I'm on my way out to BUY newspapers so I can change the bedding!

I don't know anyone who has newspapers these days that I can steal them from! Luckily, having worked in a newsagents for almost 6 years, I know which papers to buy.... iDaily, 20p each...here I come!

If he'd have done it this morning, I could have nicked a wad of papers from the Metro man who stands on the corner!

Oh noes, hope he gets over it soon :)) is he trying to get to something? We have local papers/metro here in London, I steal them in bulk for the piggies hay trays ")

My dad has about four people who save newspapers from him so thankfully whenever I see him, I end up with a huge pile.

I hope big Dave behaves soon.

My girls have loads of things to chew too in their shed. Of course, they only chew the most expensive thing in there, their wooden lazybones house mallethead

:{ lol

i get all my newspapers from work, maybe if you have any big nursing homes near you they will save them for you? wouldnt hurt to ask.

You know the thread about the new bedding thingy aqua something, me and mummy went to buy some on saturday and she put hers in her cage on saturday and straight away her colin came upstairs and started ripping strips off it, he also chews everything.

I wonder if it has a hidden meaning?

I have one of those, chews the wood of his hutch (it is non-toxic), the bars, and the plastic pigloos. But rarely does he chew his fidlldesticks or the wood chews hanging from the bars. He is a dental piggie so I put it down to that. Any chance Big Dave is developing toofie problems?

Not that I'm aware of; no weightloss, not off food, no dribbling etc. I think he's just being irritating!

I would give him a bare cage. Nothing in there apart from the things you want him to chew and bedding. Also, try a ceramic bowl, since they aren't chewable.

He's just being a delinquent!

Omigosh! This really made me laugh :)

All four of my boys are the same today. I've actually gone upstairs to hide in my bedroom. If I can't hear the naughtiness and destruction then it's not happening! :x

Mine love to chew! I keep mine on newspaper & hay, they really love ripping the paper up and eating it. I also gave them another little hidey house which I made from a cardboard box and that's got massive holes and teeth marks all over it as well.
I try to keep their Piggy Palace as 'natural' as possible - so no plastic stuff basically, as they would chew that as well and I'm sure it's not good for them. So they have paper, card and wood. And ceramic bowls which are also easy to get really clean.

Cardboard boxes, toilet roll tubes etc. all remain untouched! He's not done this in the past 4 years!
