Thanks...me too!Oh that's so exciting! Hope the bonding goes well![]()
Well another month has gone past... and nothing much to report other than.... I could possibly be picking up a gorgeous neutered boy in a weeks time........ he was neutered 5 weeks ago so it will be 6 weeks when I get him....
I have never had a boy so a little bit nervous especially about his bits
I am probably going to bring him here and bond at home ... thought that would be easier than taking my 3 over & stressing them out .... so I will be doing lots of reading through the bonding threads... the lovely lady at the rescue will also talk me through it...
I will keep you posted... am quite excited!

Thank you...Sorry to hear that your bonding didn’t go as planned! At least no one was hurt but I can imagine how you’re feeling after a few stressful days of trying to bond them. Sending a big hug![]()

they certainly did and there was no way I was going to argue with their decision.. as much as it made me sad, the pigs welfare comes first..So sorry that things didn’t work out for you.
Piggies will persist in making their own little minds up
He will, he is safe and I am certain he will soon be with a loving family ( not that I didn't love him... but you know what I mean... xI'm sorry your guy did not get married.it is draining watching a bonding session. the girls will settle down.i hope your young man finds another solution.![]()
they certainly made their feelings clear.. I am ok, sad but I have to put my own feelings aside as they take priority.. xSo sorry to hear that the bonding didn't work out for your piggies. It is difficult when we have set our hearts on something and the piggies have different ideas. i think we were so lucky that our girls accepted Georgie but he really is a gentle soul and they run rings around him.
Oh dear. Silly girls. What a shame they didn’t want the lovely new husboar you offered them.
I do know of one rescue who assert that neutered boar/sow bondings never fail, but that certainly doesn’t match my personal experience or our experience of many similar bondings at the Potteries, and @Wiebke has also got the T shirt! So please don’t feel too bad about it. For whatever reason this suitor didn’t match up to your sows’ high demands/expectations but that’s no reason to expect that they won't ever accept a neutered boar. Just this one wasn’t to their liking. It’s sad when you’ve set your heart on keeping the little one, but your girls say no. I’ve lost count of the number of sows I have had to hand back over the years because none of them got on with Ralph!
thank you xI’m so sorry it didn’t work out with him and your girls, glad no was hurt. Big hugs x
I cried when I handed him back.. he was lovely.... my girls just weren't having it lol! xOh dear. Silly girls. What a shame they didn’t want the lovely new husboar you offered them.

Been a while! Well it's been another few months since I updated this thread - not much going on - Winny's eye has now fully healed... she did good....
So brownie is ok - still on Cystease twice a day for her IC - she was on pain relief but i stopped it and she has been ok but just started her back on it today as she was making a fuss when having a wee...
Now to Daisy - well she has been the one with nothing wrong until now...... had to happen didn't it! I noticed she had lost quite a lot of fur on one side - she has always had a thinning bit since we rescued her but i noticed in the space of 2 weeks it had really spread and gotten worse..... We went to see Ellie @ Derwent Valley vets on Saturday and she confirmed Ovarian Cysts.... so in the process now of booking her in for an operation to remove them... she has been a bit grumpy with the other 2 girls and has been sleeping a lot more... whilst Ellie said it's not urgent but I don't want to leave her too long and her not be feeling happy...
