Help I need the hive mind on this one - Jet has had his second dental. The jaw still has limited mobility. Is there anything that I can do to assist it?

He was before the dental not eating hay but willing to eat pellets. The vet says he will never eat hay again.

The vet has bsically said this is game over and when it is too much we put him to sleep.

Can you use glucosamine on pigs? Are there any other things which may help losen the jaw and improve mobility?

Thank you

Kate

I haven't seen him yet - it was before but he has trimmed them to 1mm of gum line. I wish I wasn't so far away - We have been wondering whether we can get him on a plane to take him to Simon.

Its already cost me a fortune whats a few £100 more  That said his auntie did offer to fly over and take him but she also works full time and can't then feed him. I think we are going to see how his jaw is and try some veggie glucosamine.

We will see how he is. My sister is in Basingstoke and could get him to simon if we really needed. However he is home and nibbling on hay.

Could you set up a piggy train? @Katiedid I don't mind meeting Jet at Southampton Airport and taking him a bit of the way to Northampton and then passing him on? I can drive around an hour and a half before needing a break.
Or I could meet him (and guardian?) at Birmingham Airport and drive them over to Northampton.

But I hope he improves and doesn't need it after all ...

Sending lots of love and vibes to Jet and hugs to you buddy x

I’ve just finished feeding him. To add insult to injury he had a stone in his urethra which they removed so he is uncomfortable and peeing blood. He is quite subdued and bloated.

Oh dear poor Jet :soz: sending healing vibes across the Solent!

Oh no! My heart is breaking for you. :( You made the decision out of love. You did everything you could for him. You couldn't have done more. Sometimes the call to the Rainbow Bridge is too strong and they just have to go. He is now playing zoomies and popcorning with Dozy and all his new friends at the Rainbow Bridge. My heart goes out to you @Katiedid. Be kind to yourself and let yourself grieve. How are your other piggies bearing up?

Thank you all. While he was willing to fight so was I but today he said he didn’t want to eat anymore, he was in pain and exhausted. I loved that bear with all my heart, you shouldn’t have favourites but I did and he was mine. I couldn’t have tried any harder and I’m happy with that. I can’t say popcorn free as he wasn’t a popcorn sort of guy so I’ll say go rumblestrutt your butt off Jet! The girls are used to him not being the so I think only Biscuit knows. The rest are just being noisey
