I just wondered which food would be considered best out of these two? I don't feed pellets other than by hand as treats or scattered among hay. My piggies are mainly pellet free and fed on a variety of hay and veggies but these are simply to add some stimulation and also they love them so much! Asda's own main ingredient is wheatfeed whereas the NF is grass meal followed by whole wheat, is there really much difference? And considering the amount they get (approx 1 eggcup daily between 4, scattered or hand fed), is one significantly better than the other? Asda's is 2kg for £2 where as NF is 1.5kg for £5.25. I am aware that there are much better pellets out there, I have tried Bunny, but they don't like it. So I have switched to almost pellet free. If I offered the Bunny pellets, they would just ignore them and then pee on them!

I'm really just trying to work out if the NF ones are 'actually' better. I have been reading a lot about human food additives etc, for example, MSG has 129 different names. Or more specifically, there are 129 additives which are chemically identical to MSG added to food. 'MSG free' crisps may contain yeast extract - one of the MSG 'cousins' so why did I spend more on the 'MSG free' if they aren't actually. Anyway, if it's the same in piggie food, I may as well get the ASDA ones.

My piggies love the Asda nuggets, in fact, Ronnie bun is rather partial to them too, I've lost count of the amount of times I've caught him raiding the piggies food bowl tucking in! :))

Mine love them too! Haha :lol!: the piggies will do anything to get some asda pellets. But they seem to equally like these NF ones too!

Is there a reason your piggies are nugget free? Just curious!

I was keen to try it after my friend had her dog on a raw diet and then also put her rabbits (exceptionally well cared for, free range in the house) onto a pellet free diet and after a bit of research I decided to give it a go. I would say the piggies now eat more hay, are more active and have lost a bit of weight which was necessary! It also means that they love to get a small amount of pellets and they happily rootle around for them through their hay and so giving them some extra stimulation.
