I have a large ash tree on my lawn and was wondering if I could give the pigs some of the branches to nibble on?

To be honest I am not sure about either of those.

I do feed my lot branches and they love them, but I tend to stick to fruit tress and only fruit with seeds (apples, pears, etc) and not stones (cherry, almond).
They also get birch, hazel, mulberry and willow.

This won't be very conclusive, but I know at least for hamsters elder is deemed unsafe but ash is deemed safe. There isn't a ton of info to back these claims up, though, so I would give it to your piggies at your own risk.

I was looking for something else and saw this. It's a very old question, but elder branches and leaves are poisonous! Only the elderflower and the elderberries, of which the latter must be well-cooked in jam or juiced, are edible. I don't think I ever gave my piggies elderflowers because I used them myself to flavour drinking water!
