Can Guinea pigs eat asparagus? I have never given it to them before so thought I would check before giving it to them :)

yes piggies can eat asparagus.it is high in vit c.its another matter trying to tempt piggies to eat it.its a bit like marmite, either the like it or not.:))

Thank you :) we've ended up cooking it all so none for the piggies this time, but it's good to know for future :)

A couple of our boys love it. I'm not too keen though, they are welcome to it :))

yes. They can eat asparagus however, it isn't recommended to give it to your guinea pigs daily. hope this helped!

I have fed my piggies asparagus from time to time but they don't like it and I usually find it later smuggled into their hidey completely untouched so I think they have eaten it.

Hahahaha that's so funny! Me and my cousin used to throw our dinner over the garden wall because my nan used to say "you won't get any pudding if you don't eat it all" maybe they are wanting you to think they've eaten it so they can have something nicer :)

That's probably it and then they look all innocent like they don't know how it got there lol, little terrors!

We frequently eat asparagus in the spring, so I give a small piece each weekly. If it's given rarely, they'll eat it, but not if I were to offer it more frequently. It does make their urine smell though, so they get it only in the evening prior to a scheduled cage clean next morning. I have a similar strategy for broccoli and kale, which I've found to also affect the smell of the cage :D

I like your strategies :) yeah I've found that broccoli is really smelly, I thought something had died the first time I gave it to the piggies x
