I think my guinea pigs ate a string from the blanket covering their enclosure. This morning septimius started chocking and looked like he was gonna throw up. My dad says that he can't afford taking him to the vet cause it cost's $400 to get him seen and checked out :(
He is eating and drinking, should I be worried?

It sounds like the string is still stuck in his throat rather than processing into his guts, or it only has gone down now. If you cannot see a vet, then you have to unfortunately sit it out over the next few days. Your piggy will need to see a vet as an emergency as soon as it goes off food and looks very off and in major discomfort. I would also see a vet if your piggy continues choking when eating as it means that the string is still stuck in the throat or back of the mouth.

Please switch from the regular once weekly weigh-in to a daily one a the same time (like always before their dinner) to keep an eye on the food intake. As soon as your piggy is losing 2 oz (ca. 60g) from one day to the next, it is not well and is not eating fully. Hay is making up to 80% of the daily food intake; you cannot control that by eye.

Hopefully, all goes well without any problems. But it is unfortunately going to be a bit of anxious time for you.
