I am from the U.S. Can this be bought over here? I wasn't sure if it is called one thing over in the UK and called something different here...

auboise and hemcore are different things i think. i found hemcore was not very absorbant where auboise was so if you can find aboise id go for that :)

sorry i dont know of suppliers tho

Well, I just called out tractor supply Co. here and he didn't have that name of aubiose...he just said for horse bedding they had pine shavings and pine pellets.....Anyone ever use Pine Pellets? ? he said the peelets were dust free, but the pine shavings of course arent...

Any help on Pine Pellets? Anyone used them? He said a 40lb bag was $5...

pine pellets just turn into dust when they get wet so are pretty useless.....

I just wish I could find something great. With the size of the housing they are in, the bedding I was using is costing me $20 every 2 weeks, which is $40 a month and hubby doesn't like that (he pretty much is the only one working full time) and we have 2 babies. The one big bag of pine shavings that I have right now that says "All-Natural" and something about them being "dust-free" is only $5 here and lasts the entire month because half of the bag fills up the cage for 2 weeks then I change it...they are all still babies and don't use the entire house of shavings quick....These shavings I have are pine and they are bigger chips than the cedar and smell better too, but I havent noticed any of my piggies sneezing or anything....it just gets loud at night when they are running around in circles chasing each other in the house. They usually wait til we go to bed and its dark to do this. I always start laughing at them because it sounds like someone running into the side of it. ;D I don't know....maybe I will just stick with what I have got. :-\

that litter in the link looks like what we call bobmartins 100% paper litter.

The pic on the page the link opens to looks like Megazorb which I use & love - its cheap & does the job. Its not just the dust with shavings it dries out the piggies feet & skin which leads to problems too.
Megazorb is Kiln dried wood pulp by the way if you need to do a product search. It looks a bit like cat litter but feels like little balls of cotton wool. Hope this helps. hx

So you think I should go take a look at the stuff in the link? The gray stuff? I can call to confirm that they have it in stock and go get some after I get off of work. I have 2 1/2 hours left down here.

According to my supplier in the UK Auboise and Hemcore are similar. Auboise is produced in France and Hemcore in the UK.
Not sure if there is a USA equivalent. I also use Megazorb but this is quite dusty when used indoors.

Don'tgo with Hemcore - its far too harsh for piggies naked feet! I tried it & gave half a bale away. I got splinters from it & my hands aren't what you would call soft!
Yep go for the grey stuff I'd say. Let us know what you think.

I have been on the Hemcore website and it looks like they are adding citronella, can't think that this would be good for piggies noses.
