Auboise...Anyone got any recently?

My local farm shop place hasn't had any for months and I can't locate any.... well I found some in Essex but they don't deliver to Nottingham!
 
Have you tried other places from their website? No clue though, sorry. I've not bought it in a long time.

Yeah tried a few .. tried to stick to local places and they all said the same .. some will only sell in bulk too... Will try further afield but I know there have been issues for a while in getting it ...
 
I got some just before Christmas from rat rations (I also have pet rats who I can't use wood shavings in the same room with). They're the only place I've found it at recently. When I went to the pet shop that I got my new viv for my bearded dragon with, they said there has been supply issues with it and there was a container shipment a couple of months back that was sold out in half an hour (not at the pet shop but at the actual shipping company).
I don't know if rat rations will still have any as I ordered mine a week before Christmas but it might be worth a try 🤔 it's unlikely that there'll be any more shipments of aubiose soon according to the lady at the pet shop

Yeah I knew there was an issue with a large shipment of it being stuck somewhere... my local stockist said its been a right pain... I went onto the rat rations website just now and they are currently not shipping anything...but thank you!

Have you tried Shorefields Equestrian Supplies in Lancaster. They posted a 15kg bag of Readigrass for me and only charged £4.50 postage. I'm not sure if they have a website because I usually just phone them and collect. They also do lovely bales of hay.

No, but I will have a good look next week online! And ring a few more places x
 
When I used it I bought it from Forrest Feeds out near White Post Farm - if it’s not too far away for you? Have a look on their website to contact them.
 
I couldn’t get any either so bought megazorb. It stinks! It feels nice, but it smells so bad!

Thanks - that isnt too far away but I can't go at the moment as my best friend is due to have a baby and i am on call to take her and her partner to hospital as he can't drive.... but i will see what I can do!

yeah they are my local supplier and don't have any... well i have not called them lately so will give them a call tomorrow.. thank you x

Ive found a supply of megazorb that does not smell,how often are you having to clean a whole cage out with megazorb ?ive used an inch thick ,shoved loads of hay over it ! sorry to divert this thread slightly !

This was when I first used it so put me off using it again! I can get the Raviera stuff OK so will have to carry on with that.. don't get me wrong, it is good stuff I just found aubiose to be super absorbent..x
 
i agreer @artcasper Aubiose is much more absorbent than Raviera ! i managed to get 2 bales of aubiose sat,but thats the first lot ive obtained since september my place only had 4 bales laft after i purchased 2 bales ! i hope you can locate some.

I’ll let you know! Only put it down today but there was a wet patch by this evenings bedtime check in, which does not fill me with hope!
 
@eileen just done my first full clean with megazorb (it was only in part of the cage) It’s stood up pretty well, the initial wet patches didn’t really increase until the end of the week (always covered in hay so it didn’t matter anyway) and it’s nice to handle. The wet clumps don’t stay together as well as Aubiose, but it’s easy enough. I really quite like it but for the smell! Also the bag wouldn’t last as long as a bale of Aubiose so the lower initial cost wouldn’t last long.
 
I had to buy auboise when my washer broke down just before Christmas. I got a 20kg bag delivered from QD stores - i found it on Google. I can recommend it and I've just looked at their website and its in stock :nod:
 
Yeah, my usual stockist has it back now too. Still going to finish the megazorb, it’s quite nice mixed with Aubiose too!

I used megazorb for a week,it only did two 5 Feet cages twice.i tried to pick the poops out,but it was difficult,as these are commercial cages.it mixes with aubiose well.i will use megazorb as a base and add another bedding on top eg Raviera to increase absorbency !
 
Sorry for jumping in here but have you tried searching for Hempbedz? They have a list of suppliers on the website. Sorry if its not what your looking for

Thanks so much. I got in touch and turns out there is a garden centre about 7 miles away from me with 2 bags in stock so I am off tomorrow to collect it to save the delivery costs! I am so pleased!
