Love the shade umbrella over the hutch! Hope your piggies will be OK.
Thanks, mine are fine (keeping them in shade and bringing them inside), hope yours are tooThis is the reason why my piggies & my doggy live indoors where there is air con. I would just stress too much otherwise. Love the shade umbrella over the hutch! Hope your piggies will be OK.
Oh, that's weird! We should definitely do a swap lol! I have been bringing them inside quite regularly and they have extended floor time inside so they can escape the heat! Damn that electric heater! The really extreme heat is mainly in South Australia and Victoria, although it's really humid in Queensland (where I am). Odd to hear about the cold, good luck to you and your piggies in the winter!Oh dear! I can't imagine how difficult that must be (currently sitting shivering with frozen fingers in a room that's had heating on all evening!) Is there any way of bringing the piggies in to a cooled room with a/c until the worst of the heatwave is over? I know it's not ideal but even a pet carrier in the better temperatures would be better than risking the extreme heat. If only there was a way we could swap places, I'd quite happily be sitting in a heatwave right now (my electric heater exploded last night from overuse after only a week of having it!) than contemplate the freezing temperatures of my room (thankfully my piggies have snugglesafes to keep them warm!) I may be biased though, I've been known to holiday in heatwaves and feel cold wondering where the heatwave everyone's talking about is!
Thanks so much, great information, I didn't know about the foods with the high water content!I don't know if this is useful but it has some tips. Please ignore how ranty it is. I had just dealt wuth a irresponsible owner and was a little cross!

So long as the air con holds out they're OK! As it's too hot to let them outside for a grass munch I'm having to go out there with scissors & bowl & bring the grass inside. Lovely ginger piggy in your photo above. Need a close-up of the other one. Aha, I see a frozen water bottle - good on you. Thanks, mine are fine (keeping them in shade and bringing them inside), hope yours are too![]()
lol thanks; great idea cutting the grass, might do that too!So long as the air con holds out they're OK! Same with the floor, like the photo of Milo sitting there not knowing what to do with himself lolGorgeous boys! Love Leo's expression. They look very comfy in all that fabric. I have a boy who refuses to move his feet unless there is fabric underneath. As I have only wood & tile floors in my house I have to lay down fabric for floor time, otherwise he just freezes on the spot. He used to spend all his cage time inside his hideys until I switched from the usual small animal bedding we have here to vetbed.
Will try that; would a bucket work? (like a washing one)Just a suggestion and you can only do it while you are around, but maybe you could use a tiny paddling pool and put some cooled water in it, just enough for them to have a paddle around in for 10 or 15 mins.
Thanks for the info; just about to try itI suppose a washing up bowl would work, however you could also fold away the paddling pool after you have finished.
My daughter had a very small one that was only 60cm across, which I brought by mistake not realising how small it was, I thought it would be great size for the guinea pigs.

Sounds great, lucky piggies; a mountain, which one (Tamborine)? Where are you getting them from?hi cavyhappy i live in the Gold Coast also and i know what u mean about the weather although where i am it is a bit cooler as i am on a mountain lol although i havent got guinea pigs yet i should be getting them this weekend
