So I generally give my piggies a bath at least one a year just to help with everything smelling fresh in my room and boy Ava was not a happy girl. Shes about 6 month and generally loves do anything but definitely not baths. And tiki who's had baths in the past was even worse. 😂😂😂

Unless they’re dirty they shouldn’t need a bath, even yearly. I’ve had the boys for 2.5 years and only ever bathed them once to clean their grease gland. Piggies generally don’t like water either.

My older piggy Bindy gets knots on her back legs and it gets really dirty there in her thick curly fur so needs a bath occasionally, just a bum and back leg bath. She is so easy going I almost think she likes the attention. Actually I think she knew it was going to help as the dags were irritating her and she looked so happy once her fur was clean and knot free after I had trimmed it as well.
My short haired piggy Lola never needs a bath. Short hair stays so clean, She's much easier.

I tend to agree that you shouldn't really be giving your piggies a bath unless there is a real need.
Healthy guinea pigs in a clean cage shouldn't smell anyway, and at most a quick bum bath for messy or long haired piggies is normally enough.
We have had Harry for 2+ years and he has never had a bath, and Ruby for 4+ years and she has had 1 bum bath after an illness.

I really only wash their bums. I don't bother with their backs or stomachs. Tiki tends to get urine stains on her bum and Ava's stomach is black and I can't tell. I'd rather know that their clean then risking anything. Like I said it's just their bottoms I wash.

Ava smelled from the pet store I got her at (don't attack me. I looked for ones that needed a home)
