so ive just discovered skype.... i say just- ive known of it and had it for years but never properly used it. so i dug out my webcam and bought a cheap mic from ebay so i could speak to my friend in ireland (whose german) lol

anyway testing skype out with a local friend i popped my webcam in the pig cage to watch them. so I'm sat at my desk with my back to the cage but with skype on and i can see my own piggies in the window, not only is it very distracting when trying to write an essay but also arthur has by chance layed down right in front of the camera and dosed off! he's even near enough closed his eyes! something I only catch them doing rarely. Its really made me smile watching my boys without them knowing so they don't panic and run around!

I may have to set up a new skype account called rodent tv for ppl to log into and watch haha

Aww look at him! I have often thought about setting up a "nanny/piggy" cam to watch them while they can't see me...see what kind of mischief they get up to. Arthur is adorable! :luv:
 
That's such a smart idea! I'd love to be able to watch mine. I'm not quire sure I understand how you did it with the webcam though. I want to do it! :D
 
@Julesie once you have your webcam plugged in most of them come with software that will let you watch or record on the camera, i just happened to be doing this through skype so this is basically what my friend could see on my camera where as i could see his face. I'd happily try and help you if you wanted to attempt it yourself just inbox me
 
Ahh I see.

My webcam is built into my laptop and not an extra product.
 
I'd love to have a webcam set up so I could see what my trio are up to when I am at work. Trouble is, I don't think I'd get any work done.
 
So cute!

We a camera set up in the shed when we first set up for the cat to make sure it was her eating the food. I would sit there for hours watching an empty shed waiting for her to come in!

I'd love to see Piglet - I'll have to see if I can get it set up to watch him instead. xx
 
so i came in today after leaving the camera in there all night and arthur is sat directly in front of it proud as punch looking straight at it i think he is in love with the little green light on top off it or something haha!
