Doesn't seem anyone has posted this yet so forgive me if I have double posted but came across this on facebook this morning and was devastated to read it. Seems like it happened yesterday evening in Australia but I'm not good with time zones.

There are some graphic details so you I urge you to approach with caution

No details version of events on Potty for Piggies:

How can people do this?!? I'm utterly disgusted.
:bye::cen::rant:

I don't think I can express how that article has made me feel. I do know that I would like to return the favour and torture the evil bas@&£"s who did those horrible things to the poor piggies. Nobody deserves to have their life taken in that way. I don't even want to imagine how those poor piggies felt during the event - it is just too distressing.

This is just unbearably awful! I'm shuddering at the thought of the agony those piggies went through before mercifully dying. We do have some bloody ferals here in Queensland! A while back someone broke into our Alma Park Zoo & took 2 macaques. One was never found but the other was discovered brutally bashed onto concrete. I simply do not understand people who get pleasure out of torturing animals.

I am so glad someone has donated a security system to the cavy sanctuary & a sparky will install it for free. I can just feel the pain of the sanctuary owner as well. Imagine saving some piggies only to have that horrible end happen to them.

This is one of the reasons all my animals live inside & I have a back to base alarm system.

I've just seen something about this appalling happening on Facebook, but I don't think I can bear to read the full details. Guinea pigs are such vulnerable, defenceless little creatures, and they need so much love and care - how can anyone be so evil as to torture and kill them? It just breaks my heart to even think about it. Those poor, poor animals.

I read the potty for piggies version and it sounds really bad - i cant bring myself to read the full article. Poor piggies - RIP little ones.

I am so upset and I feel sick. How could anybody be so cruel and go out of their way to hurt those poor innocent little ones. I really hope the scum is caught.

I can't read it, there are days when I know not to read about animal cruelty and today is one off them. I can only imagine what it says though ;(

Oh that's awful, I sincerely hope they're not related incidents or the start of some sick trend

I can't stop thinking about this, I can't see how anyone could physically do this to a living thing.

I unfortunately read the full story. I wish I had remained ignorant, and I spent a lot of yesterday feeling upset and angry with the world. I know there is nothing I personally could do, but to just read about it I felt sick, saddened and really heartbroken for the poor piggies and the humans who are suffering too because of it.
The descriptions were barbaric, but facts, and to even contemplate WHY a person would do this I cannot.

I kept going back to my 3 pigs and looking at them jumping about and chatting away, and they are wise, clever and bright creatures. How anybody could behave like this towards something so innocent is despicable and beyond help

I read the full report and am now sat in tears with my pigs in a cuddle ball. How anyone could do that to such wonderful little animals is beyond me! Absolutely devastated for those poor little pigs.

It's one of these scenarios where you almost wish you had remained ignorant to the facts isn't it :(

That's horrific, I've ended up with Benji sleeping on my lap because whenever I hear things like this I need to cuddle my pigs. It would bring me a lot of pleasure to do the exact same thing back to whoever did it  I can only hope that they catch them and they end up tortured in prison by other inmates... I just don't understand how anyone could bring themselves to do such a thing, to any animal whether it be a guinea pig or a human.

The macaque incident was here near the bottom of Queensland & the piggies were near the top of QLD about 8 - 10 hours driving time in between, so hopefully not related. But one never knows. And there's always the danger of copycat horror. As both these incidents were particularly horrific & occurred at both ends of the state it has made me wonder about the sorts of people living throughout my state.

I've gone all weird inside... what sick, messed up people. I am so protective of my pigs and other pets and would never see any harm come to them... why, why would someone do this..

They are the most innocent, sweet things ever, people fail me :( I can't explain how I feel.. poor poor piggies. Such a shame that they suffered that way :( tears literally rolled down my cheeks...

I read it and kind of wish I hadn't. Whenever we have a sick pigie, we manage to scrape money together to take them to he vet and devote our time and energy to taking care of them because the thought of them suffering is awful. I really can't understand how anyone could willingly make them suffer. What kind of awful person would do that?!

When our piggie had diarrhea and we had to see the vet about another of our piggies, he asekd about her and seemed surprised that we had really fed her with a syringe several times per day and put in the time and effort. My bf said it seemed like the vet didn't encounter that very often, that people really do their very best to help a piggie. I think they are often seen at least as creatures with whom you can play and that you can discard easily if they get boring or troublesome. It is awful and we give ours as much love and care as we possibly can so at least those six will never have to suffer.

I read this yesterday and initially I didn't read the full details but I did read it this morning. I know there is cruelty in every country and every species. Unfortunately I cannot do anything to stop it happening but I do contribute to animal welfare organisations that can make a difference to animals lives. It is because of the cruelty to animals that I care for guinea pigs. In my small way I hope I can help in some way as I am aware not all animals have a safe environment. It is unbelievable what cruelty humans can inflict on innocent animals. I hope the perpetrators are caught and given a suitable sentence.

This is more than cruelty... it's barbaric, torture.. those poor animals died in the most horrific way :( I wish someone does the same to those humans as they did to these piggies.

The latest news on this seems to be that the police have called it off and returned donations because the post-mortem showed the injuries were likely to have been caused by a dog or similar animal. I can't help feeling that they don't care about the case because it's 'just guinea pigs', I'm finding it hard to believe that a dog managed to get into the property, single out the guinea pigs, get them from their cages then leave them on the driveway like that...

I agree. How could a dog get into the cages and remove the unborn babies too?

Sounds awfully fishy. How could the initial vets inspection differ so much?

Just f*£@ them. I hope they die and go to hell, evil, just pure evil.
It upsets me too much to read these things.

When I click either link, I'm not seeing any information on what's going on.....one says content is no longer available, and the other goes to the like page - but I don't see information on what's being spoken about. Anyone have a direct link to information?

Maybe you wouldn't want to read the information...
I haven't seen the link with info myself, the same problem as you. But that's a good thing not seeing the gory details I suppose.

I personally believe that when people torture animals, they having practice to do it on humans.

That's awful! It's disgusting that someone could do that! I mean what did they ever do to them? They are small creatures who are so loving and there is no way on earth that they deserve to be killed! They are so harmless! I feel for that family! I think it's gruesome! People manipulate smaller animals and they think they are an easy target! I hope they catch the person in the end!:hb::rant::box::bal::(

I really shouldn't have opened that link.
When I read about the chest and throat, I am just feeling like fainting.
