Well I have good news we can get Fugly a friend if I can find suitable housing solution as I only have 2 places where cages can go.

Assuming the boys get on I have a gap that is 50cm wide by 150cm long would a cage that size be ok I know the width is smaller than ideal but would length make up for that? The other problem is because of the width I cant use c+c cubes unless they make smaller ones? so does anyone know of anyone who makes an indoor cage that size? I have spent ages yesterday and today looking online but they are all too wide.

If the boys dont get on the other space where Fugly currently lives is big enough for Nero 3 I could stack them on top of each other but that means that they couldnt see each other and would only be able to really socialise when they have supervised floor time assuming they would tolerate playing together but not living together.

Any advice greatly appreciated, I really want Fugly to have a friend but the housing needs to be right for them.

Hi M,

You can still use the C&C crids as you can overlap them and tie with cable ties or strong string this is what I did with the girls width.

Pleased Fugly is getting a buddy! :)

thanks Louise never thought of overlapping duh do you think that size would be ok then?

That's fine for 2 it is 4x2 minimum and this is 1.9x4.9 its just slightly of a 2x5 its fine for 2. They will love it! :)

hurray now I just have to convince oh to build it for me and then we can look for a buddy.

With the flooring where do you guys get correx from and can I attach it to the grids so you can lift whole thing up (without piggies inside) and move it around for hoovering etc. If not I would make the floor out of grids and cover that with correx, if correx is thick enough for piggies not to be affected by the grids on their feet.

If they fall out I couldnt divide the c+c as they would only have a tiny area each left so would stacking 2 nero 3 be ok, trying to cover all bases here.

Thanks

I don't think there is any way to attach the correx to the actual cage to be honest, except having grids on the actual base of the floor. I have grids on the base of the floor because I used to use lino and I don't use connectors so it didn't hold the shape properly, but with the base it did. It has never affected their feet - you can't feel the bars through it.

I bought my correx from ebay :) Mine is from this seller http://stores.ebay.co.uk/CPS-Supplies and I know others have used them too - I had no problems with them :)

plans hit a snag when I measured up I forgot that we would need to open the cupboard door so dont have enough space for long cage.

I am now trying to rearrange the house to find space for a Nero 4 wish me luck

Heres wishing you luck finding the space you need :), and just wanted to say don't let fugly get a whiff of the new cage before the new guy arrives that way it can be a neutral place for introductions

I use one of the grids as a door my cc also has a lid which is part of a fireguard:)
