Aww poor Spice

Just been down P@h and got them some nice fruitsticks because it's Spice's birthday tomorrow she's three. Got home and gave them the massive tube Dad got me. It's like plumbing stufff and it's about 2 metres long. Honey ran through it ok but Spice got a bit stuck poor girly. So i got her out and checked her feet she's ripped one of her little nails and it had bled a bit. I was stroking her and loads and loads of hair came out with bits on the end and i was covered in hair and dandruff. I read on the Gorgeous guineas indentification page so I'm sure it's fungal. I feel so bad. My little Spice has a fungal problem. Can they catch it? Because i think Honey might have it too but not so bad. I feel really bad- i feel like a bad piggy mummy. What do i do?

Awww hugs to your piggies! I think these things can go unnoticed so don't worry I am sure there are plenty of people on here with advice!

you'll need to bath them both in either the manukha and myrhh shampoo from gorgeous guineas or you can get nizarol from chemists which is an anti dandruff human shampoo which does the job as well. Email chrissie from gorgeous guineas and she should be able to give you some pretty good info on it. I think when you bath them you have to try and pluck as much of the infected hair out as possible, sounds barbaric I know but apparently it's the only way to get rid of it. GG do some good melts for sore skin as well. Good luck

Thanks guys. i emailed Chrissie and she said the same products which i wass gonna get the micro-neem and the manukka and myrhh shampoo just ordered the so i'm gonna do it at the weekend.
