this hay seems to be my pigs' favourite kind ( I tried pets at home Timothy hay and they were not so keen). They really love this stuff, it's so green and it smells good. However, it does contain marigold and dandelion so I was wondering, should I try and find a product without these for everyday? And if so, does anyone have any recommendations for a brand of green hay?
 
Hi I have the exact same problem. I don't think there are tons of margigold / dandelion heads in the hay so I can't see it being a major issue but wouldn't be a bad idea to mix a plain hay with it. I've just ordered some selective hay from viovet.co.uk which looks green and fresh but we will have to see when it arrives. :)

I have tried vitakraft Timothy hay from jollyes and it is quite nice and green. I've also tried Timothy hay by alfalfa King from pets at home (been using this for years) but just lately I am finding it too dusty to use :(
 
B&m do meadow hay as well, cheaper than the Timothy hay.Mine love it
 
Mine have this everyday.. to be honest, the heads are mainly at the bottom and i never see that many as dish handfuls out.. mine finish the lot - everyday ! such a good price too and seeing as B&M are 5 mins away even better...
( did find a compressed dead mouse in one bag - yuk yuk yuk ) ......... :yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes:
 
Mine love the meadow hay - £3.85 a bag - best hay they have ever had
 
I've got a bag waiting for mine when I get them. Is it a special or will they stock it for awhile to come? I'm wondering if I should stock up because it seems really good and a bargain price!

:D I guess you've all got better B&M stores than me. Mine only opened up a few months ago. It's got plenty for cats and dogs, but -all for small pets! :td:
 
I try to grab a few bags at a time if they have it in because they have a lady who bulk buys the hay because it's cheap and they run out :( I asked them why they didn't have any and to see if they had any out back and they said a woman buys the lot when they get their deliveres. Assuming she either breeds or has a Guinea rescue! :)

Must admit, things like that really annoy me :no:

My piggies also love the b and m bargains hay. Both the meadow and Timothy :nod:
