Hi my new babies (7wks) aren't very interested in their pellets. I've had them one week.
They eat tonnes of hay and all their veggies but their pellets are rarely touched.
When I got them they were eating a muesli type mix that seemed to have some sort of grain in it. I didn't get any change over food as it was left after a hectic pick up.
My pellets are just pellets that my other guineas have always eaten no grains etc.

Welcome to the forum

Don’t worry about this.
As long as they are eating hay, gaining weight (you will need to do weekly weight checks), then they will be absolutely fine.
Pellets are the one part of the diet which they do not need. I don’t feed my piggies any pellets at all.

Muesli isn’t recommended as it contains unhealthy, sugary ingredients so don’t worry about not having any anyway.

Thank you I know muesli mix isn't good I've never fed this in my years of owning guineas (12 yrs) however these are the first to not eat many pellets!
I have wondered if it was because they were brought up on muesli they are a bit annoyed it doesn't taste as good!
The amount of hay these ones eat though is so much more compared to my others so I suppose that is a good sign

Yes - muesli is full of sweet bits and pellets aren’t.
Definitely don’t worry though, they will be absolutely fine without pellets

I prefer the leeway not giving pellets creates - the ability to not have to worry quite so much about calcium intake is a major factor
