My rescue babies are growing up so fast. They are so cute.

Thanks they are cute but they are relentless with mom, follow her everywhere. I have put mom and babies in their own cage for the moment. How long do you think I should leave it until I let mom out to play with her piggie friends? Sorry, I am totally new at this. Wow, 6 babies! You must be a dab hand at it by now.

Such cute babies.

@Blueladybird73 welcome to the forum.
As you have new babies would you like to start your own thread so that we can focus on that and any posts you make with questions etc won’t get overlooked.
If you’ve already done this, sorry - I haven’t spotted it yet.

I did have to spectate my mom and babies from there companions they got along just fine and the companions never bothered the babies. So I’m not sure

Awwwww little cuties!

Just found out today that we have 1 boy and 2 girls, very excited! They are 3 weeks old today and growing amazingly quickily. Noticed that one of them was rumblestrutting and attempting mounting a couple of days ago, which turned out to be the boy, a bit worrying. So he will be in his own pen tonight :no: I'm not sure if it's best for him to be able to hear and see mum still or to be in a different room? Either way it's not going to be pleasant. But on the plus I have found a wonderful home for him and I know he'll be loved and looked after. A friend already has a couple of boys so we are hoping that it will all work out well in the end.

Put him next to the mum until he goes to his forever home. But just make sure he can’t escape and get to her!

Does your friend plan to bond him with one piggy or more? Boys only work in pairs, it’s very very rare to have more than 2 boys live together harmoniously.

PS super cute piggies 😍

Hi Siikibam. Thanks for the reply. My friend didn't take the baby in the end, probably for the best. The boy was hi pitched squeeking for days, tried to put him with mum again but tried to mount her again. In the end I tried the local rescues who were either full or on holiday. So we took him back to the pet shop who have him out for adoption and have put him with a cage mate. It wasn't an ideal situation but just did what we thought was best for him in the end. The pet shop bonded him with another male and they've now both got a new home - phew. :yahoo:

Hopefully it will be his forever home and he gets on with his cage mate. Do you know how old the latter was?

It’s never a good idea to put a boar back in with females if they’re past the point of separation. It only takes a second for action to take place, so to speak. I hope he didn’t actually manage to mount her.
