hi i’ve got a two layer cage and when my baby piggie goes to the top layer where’s it’s a towel down, she’s biting the towel and getting the fabric out so i’m not sure if she’s ingesting it, is there anyway i can stop her doing this? she’s so naughty🤣🤣but the towel is what’s down for the bedding at the moment

Towels by themselves are absorbent, but not suitable for bedding when they aren’t topped with fleece on top. The purpose of fleece is to wick away pee to keep their footpads dry. If they’re sitting on only towels their feet are going to be irritated and they could develop urine scald. Try putting fleece on top of the towels, maybe she won’t bite at them anymore. Be sure to wash your fleece with a scent free detergent to make sure it will wick away the pee. Good luck :)

You've been given good suggestions so far but you can also try putting hay in the spot where she usually chews. Maybe she'll chew the hay instead.

I would try and cover it with something. Fleece as suggested above is good, or perhaps bath mats. Though she could move them to get to the towel. Or perhaps use disposable bedding in that area.
